Tech Lead Backend Engineer - 2nd Life (f/m/d) H/F

Our 2nd life team is looking for a Java Tech Lead based in Lille.

Our Decathlon Second Life teams, composed of about 60 multi-skilled people (PM, back dev, front dev, mobile dev, QA), are responsible for designing and developing tomorrow's solutions so that Decathlon can support our customers in more responsible consumption of certified & refurbished sporting goods (purchase and resale).

At the heart of Decathlon's digital transformation, and in a rapidly expanding field, our team is carrying out an ambitious technological and organizational transformation to support customers, as well as all our employees in our stores and warehouses around the world.

As a Java Software Engineer and Tech Lead, you will join the Backend Core team of our 2ndLife Buyback solutions.

YOUR FUTURE CONTRIBUTION

As a Tech Lead, you are the technical pillar of the squad. You work in a true partnership with the Product Manager to translate the product vision into technological reality. Your missions:

• Team Leadership & Mentoring: You motivate and support the team on delivery and on the skill development of more junior developers.
• Architecture & Design: You design and develop robust services to support the lifecycle of 2nd life products.
• Core Asset Vision: You drive the evolution of the solution to ensure its smooth and lasting integration within Decathlon's "Core" assets.
• Operational Excellence: You guarantee best practices (Clean Code, Security, Observability) and define the technical roadmap to handle the worldwide scaling load.

TECHNICAL STACK

• Languages: Java 25, Spring Boot
• Architecture: Hexagonal, Microservices
• Data & Messaging: PostgreSQL, Kafka
• Cloud & Ops: GCP, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions

WHAT YOU BRING

• Experience: Minimum 5 years in Backend development, with proven experience as a Tech Lead or Lead Developer.
• Product Partnership: You know how to challenge a Product Manager, understand business issues, and prioritize technical debt against features.
• Java Expertise: Spring Boot has no secrets from you, and you master the challenges of scalability and availability.
• "Core" Spirit: You have a systemic vision and love building generic, reusable, and documented tools for an entire large group.
• Communication: Capable of simplifying complex concepts for decision-makers while remaining a technical reference for your peers.
• Languages: Fluent English (international context).
• Mindset: You are passionate about the circular economy and #Tech4Good.
