Accounting Team Leader

Decathlon Israel continues to grow - we are looking for an Accounting Team Leader!

We are looking for an experienced, thorough, and leading Chief Accountant for a central role in the finance department of a growing company. The role combines responsibility, end-to-end professionalism, management and development, leading a team and processes, and creating improvements in accuracy, control, and efficiency in a dynamic and evolving environment.

The role includes:

• Management, leadership, and professional development of the accounting team (3 team members), including task distribution, prioritization, and workload management
• Overall professional and managerial responsibility for accounting activities, data accuracy, process improvement, and accounting controls
• Management and leadership of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, provisions, accruals, and journal entries
• Control over payment processes to suppliers in Israel and abroad, including preparation for payment and collections from customers
• Preparation and support of internal and external audits and working with accountants
• Routine work with interfaces in the organization, including Finance, Treasury/Control, Procurement, HR, and other departments
• Routine work with banks and responsibility and control over bank reconciliations
• The role reports to the CFO and includes direct management of the accounting team

Full-time position at the company headquarters in Kfar Saba

Requirements:

• Type 3 Accountant certificate / Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• At least 3 years of experience as a Chief Accountant or in managing an accounting team in a medium/large company
• Experience in monthly/yearly closings, reconciliations, and accounting controls
• High proficiency in Excel
• Experience in managing and leading a team
• Experience working with Priority ERP is an advantage
• Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership ability, thoroughness, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, work under pressure, and manage multiple tasks
• High level of English </body>
