Senior BI & Analytics Engineer - Circularity H/F
Our Circular Analytics Team is looking for a BI Engineer (f/m/d) on a permanent contract (CDI) based in Paris or Lille.
At the heart of the Circularity domain, our team of 25 data experts (BI Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Scientists) builds the intelligence that drives Decathlon's sustainable transformation. We transform raw data into concrete actions to make repair, rental, and second life as natural as buying new. Our challenge? To reduce the environmental footprint while securing a circular and high-performing economic model on a global scale.
By joining us, you will evolve our BI infrastructure by structuring 'back' data and decision-making flows, making them the engine for self-service solutions and exploration tools based on generative AI.
YOUR FUTURE CONTRIBUTION
As a BI/Analytics Engineer, you will join the Circularity team, specifically the squad dedicated to the second-hand business model (buyback, resale). Your objective is to structure "back" data and design robust BI solutions to unlock the full potential of our data related to the second-hand market. On a daily basis, your missions include:
- Understanding business needs & driving BI strategy: Collaborating closely with business teams to define KPIs, translating their needs into visual solutions, and designing reusable data architectures.
- Modeling and designing robust BI solutions: Denormalizing and structuring optimized datasets (Back/Analytics Focus) to guarantee maximum performance for our current dashboard portfolio while preparing future semantic interfaces and AI tools.
- Ensuring delivery and quality: Managing the backlog, prioritizing developments, and conducting necessary technical audits or overhauls on our key dashboards.
- Maintaining and securing: Guaranteeing the data integrity of our dashboard portfolio, resolving production incidents in collaboration with Decathlon's governance protocols.
- Promoting Self-Service and Innovation: Writing documentation (Wiki/Confluence) to empower users and conducting innovative POCs.
- Contributing to the community: Sharing your knowledge and collaborative development best practices within the BI Chapter.
WHAT YOU BRING

- Experience: You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position (BI Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or Data Analyst) with a strong modeling component.
- Technical skills: You have perfect mastery of SQL, data modeling (Data Modelling & Design), and the Tableau environment. Ideally, you have good knowledge of transformation tools (dbt), the Databricks environment, as well as CI/CD concepts (Git, Airflow).
- Soft Skills: You possess a team spirit, critical thinking, and strong organizational rigor ("You build it, you run it" culture).
- Commitment: You wish to put your technical skills at the service of sustainable innovation (Tech4Good).
- English: You are proficient in English, both spoken and written, to operate in our international context.
