DCS Engineering are currently supporting a leading infrastructure organisation with the recruitment of a Senior Engineer to join a major civil engineering and rail infrastructure project in Reading.

The project is expected to run for approximately 3-4 years, offering long-term stability and the opportunity to contribute to a technically challenging infrastructure programme within a live railway environment.

The scope of works includes embankment stabilisation, soil nailing, drainage installation and improvements, de-vegetation, earthworks and associated civil engineering packages.

Job Responsibilities:

• Leading engineering activities and taking responsibility for allocated sections of the project.
• Developing and implementing construction methodologies to support safe and efficient delivery.
• Managing site engineering teams and coordinating day-to-day engineering activities.
• Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, programme and quality requirements.
• Reviewing and managing risk assessments and method statements.
• Liaising with designers, consultants, subcontractors and client representatives.
• Identifying and resolving engineering, technical and logistical challenges on site.
• Monitoring programme performance and supporting the delivery of critical path activities.
• Maintaining accurate site records, reports and engineering documentation.
• Supporting cost control, estimates and commercial reporting.
• Driving continuous improvement and identifying opportunities for innovative engineering solutions.
• Promoting high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.

The Candidate:

• Previous experience as a Senior Engineer or an experienced Site Engineer within major infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
• A degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Experience within rail, earthworks, embankment stabilisation, geotechnical, highways or heavy civil engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and engineering principles.
• Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary site teams.
• Knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality standards within major construction projects.
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to take ownership of engineering delivery while working collaboratively with site management and project teams.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and technical challenges.
