At the earliest possible date, we are looking for you as a temporary employee on behalf of DB System GmbH for an assignment as a Software Developer for Real-Time Timetable Optimization (f/m/d) at the Berlin location. As a temporary employee, you will perform your work in the mentioned business area, while you conclude your employment relationship with us, DB Zeitarbeit.

Your tasks:

• Development and implementation of innovative algorithms for the real-time optimization of timetables and traffic flows
• Use of methods from Reinforcement Learning, graph theory, and optimization to solve complex challenges in railway operations
• You will contribute your expertise to the further development of the future Capacity & Traffic Management System (CTMS) and actively shape its intelligent decision logics
• Further development of powerful software solutions based on Python
• Close cooperation with international experts from the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, and Operations Research
• You will work in an agile project environment with high personal responsibility and benefit from flexible and predominantly remote-oriented working methods

Your profile:

• Successfully completed university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a comparable field
• At least three years of professional experience in software development with Python
• Strong analytical skills and experience in solving complex problems
• High level of self-organization and self-motivation, especially in agile and virtual working environments
• Business fluent English skills in speaking and writing, as English is the working language in the international project team
• Ideally, you already have practical experience with graph algorithms and/or Reinforcement Learning
