Fish Farm Officer

Responsibilities:

Feed hybrid fish according to the farm's feeding schedule. Monitor fish growth, feeding behaviour, and general health. Clean and maintain fish ponds. Change or manage pond water appropriately. Monitor water quality and pond conditions. Maintain proper hygiene and biosecurity around the ponds. Identify and report signs of fish disease, stress, or abnormal behaviour. Assist with fish harvesting and sorting. Assist with the hatching and production of hybrid fish from broodstock to juvenile stage. Maintain accurate records of feeding, mortality, water management, and production activities. Ensure ponds, equipment, and surrounding areas are kept clean and operational.

Requirements: OND in Fisheries, Aquaculture, or a related field. Practical experience working on a fish farm is required. Experience with hybrid fish production will be an added advantage Practical knowledge of fish farming and aquaculture. Knowledge of fish feeding and pond management. Basic understanding of fish breeding and hatchery operations. Ability to monitor fish health and identify abnormalities. Good observation and record-keeping skills. Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding farm activities. Ability to follow instructions and farm procedures. Good teamwork and communication skills.
