IT Engineer - Security Cleared

Your tasks

An experienced, SC-cleared IT Engineer is required to support a small public-sector organisation with the day-to-day operation and improvement of its IT environment.

This is a broad, hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable being the go-to technical person across a range of technologies and issues. The environment is relatively small, so the individual will need to be practical, adaptable and happy to turn their hand to whatever is required.

• Provide hands-on support across Microsoft technologies, networking, cloud services and on-premise infrastructure.
• Act as the technical escalation point for more complex issues.
• Support the day-to-day reliability and operation of the IT environment.
• Work with and coordinate third-party IT suppliers where required.
• Support small infrastructure changes, upgrades and improvements.
• Work directly with users and stakeholders to understand and resolve technical issues.
• Provide practical technical advice and guidance where needed.

Requirements

Experience and Approach The successful individual should have broad IT infrastructure experience rather than being focused on a single technical specialism.

They should be

• Comfortable working across a wide range of technologies.
• Practical and willing to get hands-on.
• Approachable and confident working directly with users and senior stakeholders.
• Client-facing, professional and able to explain technical issues clearly.
• Comfortable working independently in a small organisation.
• Able to work effectively with external suppliers and support partners.

Clearance Current SC clearance is required.

IT Engineer (Security Clearance Required) *Location: West Sussex Working Pattern:** Approximately 3 days per week onsite, remaining 2 days hybrid.

Engagement: Initial 6 month contract with possibility to extend for 6 months.
