Role Description Portuguese Tutors at Dash Language School will deliver engaging language lessons to learners at various proficiency levels, using structured curricula and interactive teaching methods. Day-to-day tasks include planning lessons, assessing learner progress, providing feedback, and preparing teaching materials that reinforce speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Portuguese. Tutors will also support learners’ understanding of Lusophone cultures, maintain accurate records of attendance and performance, and collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching approaches. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Surulere, Lagos. Qualifications

Requirements

• Strong command of Portuguese (native or near-native fluency) and proficient English communication skills.
• Experience in teaching or tutoring languages, preferably Portuguese, using clear lesson plans and varied instructional techniques.
• Ability to explain grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation in an accessible way and adapt teaching to different learning styles.
• Excellent classroom management, interpersonal skills, and a learner-focused approach.
• Formal training in education, linguistics, or related fields is an advantage; teaching certifications are a plus.
• Comfort working in an on-site, full-time schedule in Surulere, Lagos, with reliability and punctuality.
• Cultural awareness and enthusiasm for promoting Lusophone cultures in a diverse learning environment.
• Basic digital literacy for preparing materials, tracking learner progress, and communicating with the school and learners.
