Trade Marketing Supervisor
Job Purpose Responsible for developing and executing trade marketing strategies and activities to support sales growth, strengthen relationships with traders and distributors, enhance product visibility and availability, and generate demand among farmers and agricultural customers. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement the annual Trade Marketing Plan in alignment with the company's sales and marketing objectives.
Develop and execute trade marketing activities targeting traders, distributors, agricultural retailers, and direct farmer customers to increase sales and market penetration.
Design and implement trade promotions, discounts, incentives, and loyalty programs for traders and distributors in coordination with the Sales team.
Develop and manage dealer/trader activation programs to strengthen engagement and increase product movement through the trade channel.
Plan and execute farmer-focused activities, including: Farmer Meetings
Field Days
Product Demonstrations
Field Trials
Farmer Seminars
Agricultural Events
Coordinate with the Technical Support / Agronomy team to organize field demonstrations and product trials that showcase the technical benefits and proper application of the company's products.
Develop and execute product activation plans for new pesticides and fertilizers to support their successful market introduction and penetration.
Ensure effective product visibility and availability across traders, distributors, agricultural outlets, and targeted farming areas.
Develop and implement POSM and merchandising activities , including banners, shop branding, displays, brochures, stands, and other promotional materials.
Conduct regular market visits to monitor:
Competitor pricing and activities
Trade promotions and incentives
Product availability
Product movement
Market trends
Traders' and farmers' feedback
Collect and analyze Market Intelligence from traders, distributors, farmers, and the Sales team to identify market opportunities and challenges.
Work closely with the Sales team to identify target areas, key traders, distributors, and target farmers , and develop appropriate activation plans for each market.
Develop activities that generate pull demand from farmers , supporting product movement through the trade channel and increasing demand for the company's products.
Monitor product movement in coordination with Sales and Supply Chain teams and identify slow-moving or low-penetration products, recommending appropriate activation plans.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of trade marketing campaigns and activities based on sales growth, product movement, customer engagement, and market coverage .
Manage the Trade Marketing budget and ensure effective utilization of allocated resources in line with approved plans.
Prepare regular reports for management covering trade marketing activities, campaign results, market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback .
Supervise and guide Trade Marketing Officers/Executives, where applicable, and ensure effective execution of field activities.
Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Technical Support, Product Management, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment between commercial and marketing activities.
Ensure that all trade marketing materials and promotional activities comply with company policies and applicable regulations governing pesticides and fertilizers .
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
3–7 years of relevant experience in Trade Marketing or Marketing, preferably within the Pesticides, Fertilizers, Agrochemicals, or Agricultural Inputs industry.
Strong understanding of the agricultural market , particularly the distribution and sales channels for pesticides and fertilizers.
Proven experience dealing with traders, distributors, agricultural retailers, and farmers .
Experience in planning and executing trade promotions, dealer activation programs, farmer activities, field days, and product demonstrations .
Good understanding of B2B and B2C/Direct-to-Farmer marketing activities .
Strong market analysis and competitor intelligence skills.
Ability to analyze sales and market data and translate insights into actionable trade marketing plans.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Good project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
Ability to work closely with Sales, Technical Support, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint .
Willingness to conduct frequent field visits and travel to different agricultural areas.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
English language proficiency is preferred.
