Teamlead Quality control

For a growing production organization in the Waregem region, we are looking for a Teamlead Quality Control. The organization has approximately 200 employees and realizes a turnover of circa 70 million euros. Thanks to international expansion, the company is experiencing strong growth.

As Teamlead Quality Control, you are responsible for monitoring, following up on, and further improving the quality operations within the organization. You lead the QC team and ensure that quality is applied in a correct and practical manner within both the lab and the production environment.

Job Description

In this position, you are responsible for, among other things:

• Developing, monitoring, and improving the quality systems and overseeing their correct application.
• Following up on deviations and taking appropriate corrective measures, taking ISO standards and other relevant standards into account.
• Leading, guiding, and motivating the QC team and ensuring optimal staffing.
• Following up on quality analyses and translating deviating results into concrete action plans for Operations.
• Handling and following up on internal and external complaints.
• Analyzing causes and developing and following up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), in collaboration with, among others, Operations and R&D.
• The management and follow-up of certificates and associated documentation.
• Preparing and coordinating internal and external audits.
• Managing and updating DOP's.
• Keeping product formulas up-to-date in the ERP system and following up on formula changes.
• Actively participating in improvements within the lab and the production processes, in collaboration with R&D and Operations.
• Acting as the point of contact regarding quality for various departments within the organization.

For this position, we are looking for someone with:

• Demonstrable experience within quality control and/or quality management, preferably in a production or industrial environment.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific field, such as Chemie, Biochemie or Milieu, or equivalent through experience.
• Knowledge of quality processes and analytical techniques within a lab environment.
• Affinity with regulations surrounding chemical products, such as storage, labeling, and GHS hazard symbols, or the willingness to quickly delve into these.
• Experience in leading, guiding, or coaching a team.
• A hands-on and practical mindset. You are willing to work with both quality systems and the daily practice on the shop floor.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A structured and accurate working style.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate smoothly with various departments, including Operations, R&D, and HSE.
• A good basic knowledge of English and French.
• A proactive mindset and the ability to take initiative.
• The ambition to commit to the organization in the long term and to further develop and anchor the quality operations.
