Non Financial Risk Manager - ORCS (Operational Risk and Control) & Norms Manager
Position Overview
The Operational Risk and Control System (ORCS) & Norms Manager is a key control function within DAS. As a second line function, it ensures the adequate implementation of the Risk Management & Internal Control System framework within the company and the adequate fulfillment of corresponding regulatory/group/local requirements.
You will be part of a team of 6 people including the Head of the department (also Chief Risk Officer). The small size of the team guarantees you direct involvement in key Risk Management processes of the company and regular contacts with key stakeholders within the company (Executive Committee, Management).
Mission and purpose of the function
- Support the Head of Non Financial Risk Management in the implementation and maintenance of the Operational Risk and Control System (ORCS) – also called the Internal Control System-.
- Ensure proper documentation and management of business processes (including corresponding risk and controls) according to Group standards.
- Coordinate and steer the annual ORCS cycle across the organization (update processes, update assessment on risk and controls, control testing, quality assurance, reporting on ORCS results,..)
- Support the development and implementation of risk management norms (policies and guidelines)
- Maintain an overview and monitoring on all relevant business norms and their corresponding translation into the ORCS
- Provide second line oversight on operational risk assessments and controls
What you will do
ORCS Implementation & Management
- Coordinate the ORCS cycle including preparation, scoping, process documentation, self-assessment, control testing, quality assurance, remediation management, and reporting
- Ensure proper implementation of the ORCS methodology across the organization
- Provide methodological guidance to process owners and control owners
- Perform quality assurance on self-assessments and control testing results
- Analyze operational risk trends and provide second opinions and management recommendations
- Coordinate the identification and assessment of process-independent risks
- Support the definition and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
Business Process Management
- Ensure proper documentation of ORCS-relevant business processes in ADONIS
- Verify compliance with modelling conventions and standards
- Perform methodical reviews of business process documentation
- Maintain central objects (roles, organizational units, applications) in ADONIS
- Coordinate the prolongation and archiving of business processes
- Act as interface between local business process management and Group Business Process Management
Risk Reporting & Governance
- Prepare ORCS reports for the Executive committee and other stakeholders
- Provide statements on the adequacy and effectiveness of the ORCS
- Determine the ORCS maturity level and propose improvement measures
- Support the CRO in the preparation of regulatory reports (ORSA, SFCR, RSR)
- Contribute to the Memorandum of Corporate Governance
- Support the preparation of the Annual Risk Management Report
Strategic Projects
- Participate in strategic projects of the company as representative of the Risk Management Function
- Support the implementation of new regulatory requirements related to operational risk management
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the ORCS framework
