Senior Android Engineer

Your tasks

We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer with strong Android development expertise to join our product engineering team.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and continuously improving Android product features. You will work closely with Product, Design, Backend, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-quality, and maintainable user experiences.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Android application features.
• Build stable, responsive, and maintainable user experiences using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Translate product requirements into practical technical implementations that follow established architecture and development standards.
• Apply Clean Architecture, MVVM, MVI, unidirectional data flow, or similar patterns to organize features and data flows.
• Integrate backend services, local data storage, and Android device capabilities.
• Use Kotlin Coroutines and Flow to handle asynchronous operations, state updates, and error scenarios.
• Improve application performance, stability, testability, and maintainability.
• Write unit tests, integration tests, and UI tests where appropriate.
• Analyze and resolve technical issues across UI, data, networking, and system layers.
• Participate in technical discussions, pull requests, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, QA, and other engineers to deliver product features.
• Share Android development knowledge and help improve the team’s overall engineering quality.

Requirements

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on implementation and delivery. We expect you to understand modern Android architecture and Clean Architecture, independently deliver complex features within an established technical direction, and continuously improve product quality through sound engineering judgment, testing, and code reviews.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with strong native Android development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, the Android SDK, and the Android application lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience building production applications with Jetpack Compose.
• Practical understanding of Clean Architecture and the ability to apply it to product development.
• Experience with MVVM, MVI, unidirectional data flow, or similar architectural patterns.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, and asynchronous programming.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, network error handling, and data mapping.
• Experience with Room, SQLite, or other local data-storage solutions.
• Experience with Hilt, Dagger, or other dependency injection frameworks.
• Ability to read, understand, maintain, and extend a large existing codebase.
• Ability to independently analyze requirements, implement features, write tests, and troubleshoot issues.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Familiarity with Git, pull requests, and code review workflows.
• Experience using Jira to manage work items, track development progress, and document delivery outcomes.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience developing large-scale or high-traffic mobile products.
• Experience with real-time data, WebSocket, or push notification systems.
• Experience working with large, modularized Android codebases.
• Experience developing Android libraries, SDKs, or AAR packages.
• Familiarity with Gradle, automated build systems, or CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with offline data, caching, data synchronization, or database migrations.
• Experience with camera, image, video, media, file-transfer, or other device capabilities.
• Experience with Android performance profiling, memory optimization, and stability improvements.
• Experience with JNI, the Android NDK, and Native C/C++ integration.
• Experience developing, packaging, debugging, or maintaining .so shared libraries across different Android ABIs.
• Experience developing applications with Flutter and Dart.
• Familiarity with Flutter-to-native Android integration and Platform Channels.
• Experience contributing to large-scale applications.
