Automation Engineer Machinebouw with Experience

As a Senior Automation Engineer Machinebouw, you are responsible for the PLC control and SCADA programming of new machines and installations. You take ownership of the automation segment and follow it up technically from engineering and programming to testing and final installation at the customer site.

Specifically, as a Senior Automation Engineer Machinebouw, you will:

• Be responsible for the PLC programming and machine control of new high-tech machines and installations.
• Program and configure SCADA and visualization systems.
• Coordinate the automation planning with the Project Manager and ensure that various project deadlines are met.
• Draft, adjust, and further develop functional descriptions for machines.
• Functionally test the automation software and perform the final technical inspection before machines are shipped.
• Provide support during the installation and commissioning of machines at international customers.
• Collaborate on upgrades, optimizations, and service interventions on existing machines.
• Select PLC, network, and automation components in consultation with the Electrical Engineer and Project Manager.
• Interpret and use electrical schematics during the development and troubleshooting of machine controls.
• Analyze technical problems and independently arrive at a suitable solution.
• Work closely with colleagues from, among others, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Project Management.
• Travel internationally regularly for projects, interventions, and support at customers, up to approximately 30% of your working time.

You have extensive experience with PLC-controlled machines and feel at home in a complex machinebouw environment.

As a Senior Automation Engineer Machinebouw, you recognize yourself in the following:

• You hold a master's degree in Elektrotechniek, Automatisering, or a comparable technical education with a strong focus on electricity and automation.
• You have at least 10 years of relevant experience as an Automation Engineer within a machinebouw environment.
• You possess extensive knowledge of PLC programming and machine control.
• You have very good knowledge of Siemens, including TIA Portal and Step7.
• Additionally, you have experience with at least one other PLC platform, such as Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Beckhoff, or Schneider.
• You have experience with SCADA and process visualization systems such as WinCC, Wonderware, and/or iFIX.
• You can read and interpret electrical schematics fluently.
• You have knowledge of servomotion technology.
• Affinity with IT and programming languages such as .NET, C++, C#, and SQL is a plus.
• You can independently determine priorities and organize without losing sight of collaboration with the team.
• You are hands-on, solution-oriented, and technically strong.
• You have a customer-oriented attitude.
• You also speak and write English fluently due to the international projects and customers.
• You are willing to travel internationally, up to approximately 30% of your working time.
