Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer

As an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be involved in the full development process of new and existing machines and products. You look at the bigger picture and follow your designs beyond just the concept and drawing phase.

Specifically, as an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:

• Conceptually and mechanically design new machines, parts, and technical solutions.
• Be involved in the entire trajectory from concept to production.
• Be responsible for engineering, prototyping, testing, and verification of your designs.
• Elaborate technical solutions with attention to manufacturability and production.
• Collaborate on the development of tooling required for production.
• Prepare and maintain the necessary technical documentation.
• Take into account quality requirements, QA/QC, product margins, costs, and set deadlines.
• Take ownership of your designs and follow them through the entire development process.
• Provide technical coordination with suppliers and internal and external stakeholders within an international environment.
• Develop innovative concepts to further improve the performance and efficiency of new and existing products.
• Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and technical concept development.
• Model, technically substantiate, and demonstrate ideas and concepts.
• Look at technical challenges from various engineering disciplines and develop solutions.

For this position of experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, we are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer with a broad technical background. You are not only strong in mechanical design but also understand how different engineering disciplines influence each other within complex machine building.

As an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, you recognize yourself in the following:

• You hold a master's degree in Electromechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a similar technical education.
• You have at least 10 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within a machine building environment.
• You possess very strong knowledge of mechanical design and engineering.
• You have knowledge of and experience with various technical domains, such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, electricity, and FEA.
• You can independently elaborate technical concepts and further develop them into realizable solutions.
• You are creative and strong at coming up with new technical concepts.
• You have an eye for both technical performance as well as efficiency and manufacturability.
• You can work dynamically and independently.
• You take ownership of your responsibilities and projects.
• You take initiative and do not wait to tackle technical challenges.
• You have a pronounced passion for technology, innovation, and high-tech machine building.
• You enjoy collaborating with colleagues from different technical disciplines.
• You speak fluent English due to the international working environment.
