Senior QA Engineer – Embedded & Audio Quality

About the company

You will join a CSHARK team delivering a project for our client, a technology company building on-device audio and speech products.

Your tasks

This role combines embedded QA with speech and audio quality. You will verify that the client’s SDK performs well on devices and that the voice it produces sounds right: intelligible, natural, true to the speaker and free of artifacts. Audio experience is a must and at the core of the role.

• Run performance tests of the embedded SDK on target devices (latency, resource usage, stability).
• Evaluate speech quality: intelligibility, naturalness, speaker identity, artifacts and end-to-end latency.
• Apply and automate objective metrics such as PESQ, ViSQOL , STOI and WER.
• Design and run subjective listening tests, and analyse the results.
• Set up and use acoustic test rigs for repeatable measurements.
• Report findings to research and engineering teams in a clear, data-driven way.

Requirements

• Experience in QA for embedded, mobile or audio software.
• Practical knowledge of speech/audio quality metrics (PESQ, ViSQOL , STOI, WER or similar).
• Experience organising listening tests or perceptual evaluations.
• Understanding of acoustic measurement setups.
• A good ear and attention to detail.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Background in audio engineering, acoustics or speech processing.
• Experience with on-device profiling ( adb , Perfetto).
• Experience testing speech enhancement, voice conversion or TTS systems.
