Medical Laboratory Technician

Responsibilities:

Collect, label, and process patient specimens according to established procedures.

Perform routine laboratory tests in Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology, Serology, and Urinalysis.

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and analyzers.

Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results through quality control procedures.

Record, analyze, and report laboratory findings promptly and accurately.

Maintain laboratory records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Adhere to infection prevention and laboratory safety protocols.

Monitor reagent inventory and notify management of stock requirements.

Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the laboratory.

Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment.

Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement activities.

Requirements:

Diploma or Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.

Valid professional license/certification where applicable.

Minimum of 1–2 years of laboratory experience in a clinical or diagnostic setting.

Experience operating automated laboratory analyzers is an advantage.

Good understanding of laboratory quality control and safety standards.

Proficiency in specimen collection and handling.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Basic computer literacy and experience with laboratory information systems are an added advantage.
