Project Manager
Must-have:Lead
The Project Management Manager is responsible for the successful end-to-end delivery of workplace Design & Build projects, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the agreed design and quality standards.
The role acts as the key bridge between Design, Commercial, Procurement, Contractors, Site Teams and the Client, translating design intent into an executable project plan and driving delivery through to handover.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Project Delivery
- Lead multiple interior fit-out and Design & Build projects from design handover through construction, completion and defects close-out.
- Develop project program covering design freeze, procurement, authority submissions, construction, testing, commissioning and handover.
- Track milestones, dependencies and critical-path activities and intervene early when delivery is at risk.
- Ensure projects meet agreed scope, program, budget, quality and client expectations.
- Site & Construction Management
- Lead site mobilisation and coordinate all contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and specialist trades.
- Conduct regular site meetings, progress reviews and inspections.
- Ensure site works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and design intent.
- Proactively resolve site constraints, coordination conflicts and sequencing issues.
- Maintain strong standards of workplace safety, housekeeping and site discipline.
- Commercial & Cost Control
- Work closely with the commercial team to manage project budgets and committed costs.
- Monitor variations, additional works and scope changes to minimise margin leakage.
- Ensure variations are properly documented, costed and approved before execution wherever practicable.
- Monitor procurement and contractor performance against both budget and programme.
- Provide visibility of project financial risks and forecast cost-to-complete.
- Client Management
- Be the primary project delivery contact for clients throughout the construction phase.
- Provide clear and structured reporting on progress, upcoming milestones, risks and required decisions.
- Manage client expectations while balancing design, commercial and operational realities.
- Handle project issues professionally and escalate critical matters early.
- Design & Technical Coordination
- Partner closely with the Design Director and design team to ensure design intent is maintained during execution.
- Drive coordination between architectural, M&E, AV, IT, security, furniture and other specialist requirements.
- Review construction drawings, shop drawings, material submissions and technical documentation from a project delivery perspective.
- Identify constructability risks before they become site problems.
- Risk & Change Management
- Maintain clear project risk, issue and change registers.
- Identify risks relating to program, cost, resources, procurement, design and site conditions.
- Drive mitigation plans with clear owners and deadlines.
- Manage scope changes through disciplined change-control processes rather than informal site instructions.
- Project Governance & Reporting
- Establish consistent project management standards across IDZ projects.
- Maintain accurate project program, progress reporting, meeting minutes, variation tracking and handover documentation.
- Provide management with regular visibility of project status through clear Red/Amber/Green (RAG) reporting.
- Conduct project close-out reviews and capture lessons learned for future projects.
- Team & Vendor Leadership
- Provide leadership to Project Managers, Site Managers/Coordinators and project resources where applicable.
- Hold contractors and vendors accountable for quality, safety and delivery performance.
- Support the selection and development of reliable contractors and specialist partners.
- Build a culture of ownership, urgency, collaboration and problem-solving, rather than simply escalating problems.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Interior Architecture, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Ideally 8+ years of relevant project delivery experience, with strong exposure to workplace interiors, commercial fit-out or Design & Build.
- Proven experience managing projects from design handover through construction and final handover.
