About the company

CRA Consulting is working in partnership with a well-established claimant law firm with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality legal services across Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury. With a commitment to excellent client care and achieving the best possible outcomes, the firm continues to invest in and expand its specialist Clinical Negligence team. An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Negligence Solicitor with 0-1 PQE to join the team. This role would suit a Newly Qualified Solicitor looking to develop their career in Clinical Negligence, offering hands-on fee-earning experience, direct client contact and the opportunity to learn from experienced practitioners.

Your tasks

You will work alongside an established team of Clinical Negligence specialists, managing your own caseload of claimant matters while assisting senior fee earners with more complex and higher-value claims. The role offers a varied workload and the opportunity to build your technical knowledge, litigation experience and confidence as a fee earner, with ongoing guidance and support throughout your development. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of lower to mid-value claimant Clinical Negligence claims.
  • Assisting senior colleagues with complex and higher-value cases.
  • Reviewing medical records, analysing evidence and preparing case summaries.
  • Investigating liability, causation and quantum.
  • Instructing medical experts and liaising with relevant professionals.
  • Drafting letters of claim, witness statements, court documents and legal correspondence.
  • Maintaining regular contact with clients and providing clear, empathetic advice.
  • Progressing claims in line with relevant procedures and deadlines.
  • Assisting with settlement negotiations and preparing cases for litigation where necessary.
  • Working closely with colleagues to ensure claims progress efficiently and clients receive a high standard of service.

Requirements

The firm is looking for a Newly Qualified Solicitor or someone with up to one year of post-qualification experience who is keen to establish themselves within claimant Clinical Negligence. Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience in Clinical Negligence or Personal Injury gained during your training contract or through a previous legal role.
  • A genuine interest in pursuing a long-term career in claimant Clinical Negligence.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret detailed medical and factual evidence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A client-focused approach, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development.

Direct Clinical Negligence experience would be beneficial, but candidates with a solid Personal Injury background who are keen to specialise will also be considered.

What we offer

You will benefit from ongoing supervision, mentoring and technical guidance, with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as your experience develops.

What's on Offer?

  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
  • Hybrid working arrangements.
  • Structured training and ongoing professional development.
  • Support and mentoring from experienced Clinical Negligence practitioners.
  • Early exposure to fee earning and responsibility for your own caseload.
  • A varied workload covering claimant Clinical Negligence matters.

  • Clear opportunities for long-term career progression.
  • Generous annual leave, pension and additional benefits.
