Job Description
Coupang's Global Investigations Team is an organization dedicated to investigation duties for the entire Coupang Group, performing the role of identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to Fraud, Misconduct, Policy Violations, and other unethical activities that may occur within Coupang and its domestic and international affiliates. The Global Investigations Team manages ethics reporting channels, conducts independent and objective investigations into ethics violations received through these channels, clarifies facts, and derives appropriate measures and improvement plans. Additionally, it supports the investigation activities of overseas subsidiaries and oversees the consistent application of investigation standards and operational principles at the group level.
Currently, the Coupang Global Investigations Team is recruiting a Principal Investigation Specialist. This position is for an expert who can independently evaluate and conduct complex and sensitive investigation matters and lead the entire investigation process based on excellent judgment and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
Independently review internal reports received through central reporting channels, assess facts and potential risks, and determine whether to initiate an investigation and define the scope of the investigation.
Independently perform or lead the entire investigation process, from establishing investigation plans, conducting interviews, and collecting evidence to reviewing company systems and data, analyzing facts, deriving investigation results, and writing final reports.
Identify anomalies and establish/verify investigation hypotheses by utilizing company systems, transaction data, system logs, HR data, and other relevant information.
Present balanced conclusions and recommendations by objectively assessing facts, the reliability of evidence, and risks.
Investigate Fraud and Compliance-related cases such as embezzlement, breach of trust, conflict of interest, and corruption, as well as HR-related cases such as workplace harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and sexual harassment.
Conduct investigations on complex and sensitive matters while maintaining fairness, consistency, and objectivity based on independent judgment.
Collaborate with major domestic and international stakeholders and support the investigation activities of overseas subsidiaries when necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Law, Compliance, or a related field.
12+ years of experience in Investigation, Compliance, Audit, Risk Management, or related fields.
Experience in independently conducting and closing complex and sensitive investigation matters, such as internal whistleblowing, Fraud, Compliance, or HR-related investigations.
Experience leading the entire investigation process, including establishing investigation plans, conducting interviews, collecting and analyzing evidence, and writing investigation result reports.
Experience deriving investigation results based on the review of various data, such as company systems, transaction data, system logs, and HR data.
Experience deriving investigation conclusions and recommendations by analyzing facts and evidence.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
High level of ethical awareness, ability to maintain confidentiality, and meticulous work processing capabilities.
Proficiency in English at a business level or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in Corporate Investigations, Ethics & Compliance, or fraud audit organizations.
Experience related to Whistleblowing, Fraud Investigation, or Regulatory Reporting.
Experience using Case Management Systems and data analysis tools.
Possession of Attorney or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualifications.
