Air Export Operator - Heathrow - Freight Forwarding
About the company
The Opportunity An established global freight forwarding business is looking for an experienced Air Export Clerk to join its team in the Heathrow area. This is an excellent opportunity for an airfreight professional with a background in export operations to take responsibility for shipments from start to finish, ensuring all documentation, customs procedures and customer requirements are handled efficiently.
Your tasks
- Manage airfreight export shipments from start to finish, including invoicing
- Prepare and process export documentation accurately
- Complete customs entries in line with current regulations and procedures
- Liaise with airlines, freight forwarders, transport companies, couriers and internal departments
- Deliver excellent customer service and resolve shipment-related issues
- Participate in an on-call rota approximately once every 10–12 weeks
Requirements
- Experience within airfreight export operations
- Strong understanding of Incoterms and current customs procedures
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Level CO Aviation Security training desirable, although training can be provided
- Experience with Boxtop is advantageous
- Knowledge of CDS, Sequoia or ASM customs systems is beneficial
