Since 1982, GS Elektromedizinische Geräte GmbH has been developing and manufacturing innovative high-end devices for emergency and intensive care medicine. The systems and solutions sold under the name corpuls are in daily use in over 75 countries worldwide. At our company headquarters in Kaufering near Munich, more than 600 hearts are now beating for the highest demands of lifesavers. At corpuls, we create not only innovative products but also successful careers. We are always aware: only those who feel comfortable are motivated and can constantly be inspired anew. It is therefore important to us to create the right environment for this.

Your Mission: From Circuit to Production-Ready PCB

Do you think in schematics and simultaneously understand the requirements of modern manufacturing processes? Do you already recognize during development where layer stack-up, material selection, or footprints might cause risks later on? Then become part of our team and develop electronic solutions that are used worldwide.

As a Senior Hardware Developer PCB Design, you are responsible for the development of sophisticated electronic assemblies, from circuit conception and PCB design to quality-assured series production. You develop hardware solutions from the idea to production readiness and design digital as well as analog circuits including the necessary documentation. You translate circuit concepts into EMC- and signal integrity-compliant, manufacturable multilayer layouts and define layer stack-up and material selection. You specify printed circuit boards and assemblies completely and clearly and create the associated manufacturing data sets such as Gerber, assembly, and test data. You design your designs according to DFM, DFA, and DFT criteria, taking into account material properties, availability, and production requirements. You support the development of test concepts for bare PCBs and populated assemblies (AOI, electrical test, ICT/Flying Probe, functional test) and ensure verifiable product quality. You work closely with PCB manufacturers and EMS service providers, from the inquiry through sampling and first article inspection to series release. You accompany series production starts, analyze manufacturing, testing, and field findings, and derive improvements for design and manufacturing processes from them. You develop and evaluate designs according to the relevant IPC standards and Class 3 quality requirements and drive the further development of our design rules, libraries, and manufacturing standards. You take responsibility for sub-projects, manage them independently, and are the technical reference for all PCB topics within the team.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Completed studies in electrical engineering, engineering, physics, or a comparable qualification.
  • Many years of professional experience in hardware development with a focus on PCB design, PCB manufacturing, and industrialization of electronic assemblies.
  • Sound experience in the specification, development, and industrialization of PCBs and assemblies, as well as a deep understanding of the entire value chain of PCB manufacturing, assembly, and testing.
  • Ideally, you have been able to build up this know-how in close cooperation with EMS service providers or PCB manufacturers.
  • Confident application of relevant IPC standards, especially IPC-2221/2222, IPC-600, IPC-A-610, and J-STD-001.
  • Good understanding of modern PCB and manufacturing processes, especially regarding base materials, layer stack-ups, PCB technologies, and soldering processes.
  • Sound knowledge of digital and analog circuit technology.
  • Very good knowledge of EMC- and signal integrity-compliant design of electronic assemblies.
  • Confident handling of professional ECAD/layout tools, for example, Altium Designer.
  • Basic knowledge of low-level programming is an advantage.
  • You have already successfully accompanied several development projects through to production readiness and contributed significantly to the project's success.
  • Very good written and spoken English skills for technical coordination with international manufacturing partners.
