We are seeking an experienced *Nurse Practitioner (NP)* for *contract opportunity in Northern, Ontario*. This is an excellent opportunity for an NP with strong clinical experience who is comfortable working in a hospital environment and caring for *ALC (Alternate Level of Care) and rehabilitation patients*. Candidates with strong inpatient RN experience and LTC experience may also be considered.

*Responsibilities*

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients within scope of practice.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
• Develop and implement appropriate treatment and care plans.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other investigations.
• Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice.
• Provide ongoing care and management for ALC and rehabilitation patients.
• Recognize and manage patients with acute and complex medical conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated patient care.
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment, medications, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using electronic health records.
• Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, and applicable regulatory standards.

*Qualifications*

• Current and valid *Nurse Practitioner licence*
• *Minimum 2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience*
• Candidates with *5+ years of recent inpatient RN experience* will also be considered.
• *LTC experience may be considered in place of ER experience.*
• Experience caring for *ALC and rehabilitation patients* is an asset.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hospital environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification preferred.
