Laboratory Technician

Objective:

The position aims to execute, supervise, and document specialized laboratory tests, applying methods, procedures, and technical standards oriented toward accurately evaluating the formulation, quality, performance, and behavior of materials and new products for the construction industry.

The position will actively participate in research, development, and validation activities of formulations, performing tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished products, as well as the analysis and interpretation of results.

Various materials related to the construction sector will be evaluated, such as cement, concrete, aggregates, mortars, polyurethanes, chemical additives, additions, etc.

Main functions to be performed will be:

• Development of new formulations for the different research areas in the construction sector.
• Preparation of technical data sheets for each developed product.
• Execution of tests for the preparation of specific tests on samples of mortar, cement, concrete, aggregates, polyurethanes, additives, and other materials related to the construction field.
• Research of new materials (additives, resins, additions) that allow for the optimization of formulations to establish a cost-quality ratio.
• Perform compatibility tests and design of experiments for the purpose of evaluating the physicochemical behavior of formulations and thereby being able to provide a formula proposal for the manufacturing of prototype or pilot batches.
• Analyze test results, identifying trends and variations, and communicate findings to the product research and development manager.
• Review of articles and technical data sheets for reformulations, always considering specific regulations.
• Collect scientific and technical information, as well as perform reports to provide support for product developments and reformulations.
