International Purchasing Coordinator

We are looking for a professional responsible for coordinating and supervising purchasing and import processes, from the research and selection of national and international suppliers to the final delivery of materials, machinery, and equipment. They will be responsible for ensuring efficient logistical processes, timely deliveries, competitive costs, and compliance with applicable customs regulations.

Main functions

• Coordinate international purchasing, import, and logistics processes.
• Research, evaluate, and profile national and international suppliers.
• Negotiate prices, warranties, payment terms, and service agreements.
• Coordinate freight forwarding agencies, customs agents, and logistics providers.
• Define Incoterms and supervise compliance with delivery times.
• Verify the correct classification of tariff headings.
• Manage customs documentation, payments to suppliers, taxes, and duties.
• Prepare cost integrations, comparative charts, and import reports.
• Evaluate national and international offers considering cost, quality, profitability, and delivery time.
• Supervise and lead area personnel.

Requirements

• Graduate in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Master's degree in Supply Chain or Logistics, desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in international purchasing, imports, and logistics.
• Experience in negotiation with international suppliers and contract management.
• Knowledge of customs legislation, taxes, and duties in Guatemala.
• Knowledge of tariff classification and import documentation.
• Advanced English.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of SAP, SAF, or other ERP systems.
• Experience leading work teams.
• Analytical thinking, negotiation skills, decision-making, and results orientation.
