Technical Lead – DevOps / SRE

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead – DevOps / SRE to drive the design, automation, deployment, and operational reliability of cloud and multi-environment infrastructure.

The role combines hands-on technical delivery with engineering leadership, including providing technical guidance, conducting infrastructure-as-code (IaC) reviews, performing structured root-cause analysis (RCA), and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

1. Technical Leadership & Engineering Governance

• Provide technical guidance, code/IaC reviews, and mentoring to DevOps and SRE team members.
• Establish technical standards, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and deployment runbooks.
• Collaborate with engineering, cloud, security, and enterprise audit teams to align technical delivery with organisational requirements.

1. Solution Design & Architecture

• Gather technical requirements and develop High-Level Designs (HLD) and Low-Level Designs (LLD) for cloud and infrastructure solutions.
• Design and support multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS and Microsoft Azure , with exposure to GCP or Alibaba Cloud considered advantageous.
• Incorporate security-by-design principles and relevant frameworks, such as ISO 27001 and NIST, into technical solution architecture.

1. Infrastructure Automation & CI/CD

• Build, maintain, and optimise automated provisioning, configuration, and validation pipelines using Python, Bash, Terraform, and Ansible .
• Integrate automated security checks and policy-as-code into CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Improve infrastructure automation, deployment efficiency, and operational consistency across environments.

1. Containerisation & Orchestration

• Design, deploy, and support production Kubernetes environments, including workload configuration, networking, and access controls.
• Implement container security and hardening practices, including relevant CIS benchmarks.
• Support the implementation of cloud workload protection and security solutions such as Prisma Cloud CWPP/CSPM.

1. SRE, Observability & Operational Quality

• Lead structured Root-Cause Analysis (RCA) for complex technical incidents and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and maintain telemetry, logging, monitoring, and operational dashboards to support system performance, reliability, and security.
• Support change management, release activities, and operational support in accordance with ITIL-aligned processes.
• Contribute to service reliability, availability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Qualifications & Skills

• Demonstrated experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, and DevOps/SRE delivery , including experience providing technical guidance or leading technical projects.
• Hands-on technical proficiency in AWS or Azure .
• Practical familiarity with GCP or Alibaba Cloud is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Python and Terraform for infrastructure automation, scripting, and validation.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Docker containerised environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of TCP/IP networking, cloud security controls, and infrastructure hardening .
• Experience with CI/CD tools and infrastructure automation frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience conducting technical incident investigations and RCA.
• Good documentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information, risks, and architecture designs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
