We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise IT infrastructure spanning multi-platform Linux (Red Hat) and Solaris environments. In this role, you will be responsible for system architecture, server virtualization, high-availability clustering, configuration management, disaster recovery execution, and maintaining 24/7 system reliability. Key Responsibilities Linux & Solaris System Administration Provision, build, configure, and maintain production, development, and testing environments for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 5/6/7/8/9/10) and Oracle Solaris (10/11) platforms.

Manage system performance, memory, CPU, and disk utilization statistics across physical and virtual environments.

Execute quarterly OS patching and package management using Red Hat Satellite Server in coordination with application and database teams.

Perform OS, kernel, and firmware upgrades, alongside root-cause analysis (RCA) and hardware troubleshooting with vendors.

Virtualization & Storage Management Manage virtual machine operations including deployment using templates, VM cloning, snapshot management, and migrations.

Configure and administer logical volumes using LVM , ZFS , VxVM (Veritas Volume Manager) , and Root Storage Mirroring.

Administer Solaris Zones, LDOMs, and VMware/KVM virtualization technologies.

Clustering, High Availability & Disaster Recovery Install, configure, and troubleshoot high-availability cluster solutions including Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) , Red Hat Cluster , and Sun Cluster .

Facilitate resource failovers and participate in bi-annual Disaster Recovery (DR) drills.

Automation & Security Maintain and execute configuration management and infrastructure automation tasks using Ansible .

Configure and maintain system security using SELinux, iptables, NIS, LDAP, and network routing/bonding configurations.

Key Requirements & Qualifications Experience Demonstrated strong hands-on experience in Unix/Linux Systems Engineering within enterprise environments.

Practical experience in system administration, infrastructure support, troubleshooting, and production environments.

Core Technical Expertise OS Platforms: RHEL (5 through 10) and Oracle Solaris (10/11).

Storage & Volume Management: LVM, VxVM, ZFS, SVM.

Clustering: Veritas Cluster Server (VCS), Red Hat Cluster, Sun Cluster.

Virtualization: LDOMs, Solaris Zones, VMware, KVM.

Automation Tools: Ansible, Red Hat Satellite Server.

Hardware Platforms: Sun/Oracle SPARC (T-Series, M-Series), HP ProLiant (BL/DL Series), Lenovo/Sun x86 servers.

Operational Availability Ability and willingness to work on a 24/7 rotational shift schedule, including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays, as required by operational schedules.

Education & Certifications (Preferred) Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) / Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).

Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation.
