The position:

In a highly technical industrial environment, you will join an organization specialized in the design and manufacture of embedded electronic systems intended particularly for the railway, defense, industry, and energy sectors. You will evolve within an R&D team working across the entire product life cycle, from design to development and operational maintenance. The position combines a strong managerial dimension with technical responsibility for software architectures and developments.

Coris Innovation is looking for its new Software Manager - Embedded Software to supervise a team of approximately eight engineers and technicians while maintaining an operational technical role. You are the guarantor of the quality of architectural choices, the management of developments, and the team's deliverables, with particular attention paid to client requirements, quality, and cybersecurity.

Main missions:

• Manage and support a team of approximately eight software development engineers and technicians: animation, interviews, recruitment, training, and skill development.
• Provide technical expertise in embedded software, challenge architectural choices, and guarantee the relevance of the chosen technical directions.
• Drive software developments throughout the entire product life cycle and ensure compliance with the team's commitments and deliverables.
• Validate technical choices and intervene directly in certain developments when the situation requires it.
• Drive safety-critical and non-safety-critical developments, particularly in railway and defense environments.
• Guarantee the integration of client, quality, and cybersecurity requirements into developments.
• Ensure the technical interface with clients, suppliers, and internal teams, while contributing to estimations and the continuous improvement of development practices.

Profile sought:

With a Master's degree (Bac+5), Engineer in computer science, embedded software, or an equivalent field, you have at least 10 years of experience, with significant technical expertise in embedded software development. You also have proven initial experience in technical team management and are capable of supporting a team in its operational challenges as well as its skill development.

You have perfect mastery of C/C++ and solid experience with the Linux environment. You practice Agile methods and Git, and are capable of addressing software architecture issues while remaining technically credible to developers. Skills in Python, CI/CD, Zephyr, as well as knowledge of x86/ARM architectures and QNX, are assets. Experience in standardized or safety-critical environments, particularly railway, defense, or automotive, as well as knowledge of ISO 26262 and/or applicable railway standards, are particularly appreciated. Professional English is required.

Beyond your technical and managerial skills, you are a manager who wishes to maintain true proximity to technology. You are capable of challenging an architecture, introducing new development practices, and helping your collaborators progress while remaining involved in technical issues. Autonomous, pedagogical, and possessing good leadership, you know how to unite a team and communicate effectively with various technical stakeholders. French nationality is required given the involvement in certain projects within the defense sector.
