The position:

As part of industrial projects with high safety stakes, you will work on the qualification of digital equipment integrating electronic and software functions intended for nuclear installations. Your role consists of demonstrating mastery of software development and its compliance with applicable requirements in a highly regulated environment. You will operate at the interface between R&D teams, regulatory and normative requirements, and project stakeholders.

Coris Innovation is looking for its new Embedded Software Qualification Engineer to contribute to the construction and consolidation of the compliance demonstration for embedded software. You will analyze existing development practices and elements, identify potential gaps, and support technical teams in building a robust and traceable qualification file, particularly with regard to RCC-E and IEC 62671.

Main missions:

  • Analyze the architecture, design, and documentation of existing embedded software to evaluate their level of mastery and compliance.
  • Collect and analyze technical elements from various R&D offices, including in an international context.
  • Evaluate development practices according to V-Model principles, particularly regarding requirements, design, coding, Verification & Validation, configuration management, and change management.
  • Identify the evidence required to demonstrate compliance with applicable requirements and ensure their traceability.
  • Identify potential gaps and support R&D teams in defining appropriate compensatory measures.
  • Write the REA - Evaluation and Application Report and structure the associated technical demonstration.
  • Prepare and support exchanges and documentary audits with project stakeholders and the end client.

Profile sought:

With a Master's degree (Bac+5), Engineer or Master in embedded software, industrial computing, or an equivalent field, you ideally have 8 years of experience or more in the development, verification, or qualification of embedded software. You have acquired significant experience in a critical or highly regulated environment, such as nuclear, railway, aeronautics, automotive, defense, or medical.

You possess a solid culture of embedded software and experience in embedded C; knowledge of C++ is appreciated. You master the principles of the V-Model, Verification & Validation, requirements management and traceability, as well as configuration and change management. You are capable of analyzing software design documents and methodically evaluating the coverage of requirements and evidence. Experience in software qualification or verification, functional safety, or operational safety is an asset. Knowledge of standards such as EN 50128, IEC 61508, ISO 26262, or DO-178, as well as RCC-E and IEC 62671, is particularly appreciated. Knowledge in electronics, electrical engineering, or software testing is also a plus. Fluent English, both written and spoken, is required to work with international R&D teams.
