The TUG Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of TUG machines, including machine setup, calibration, quality verification, troubleshooting, data reporting, and equipment changeovers. This position supports production by ensuring products meet quality standards while adhering to all safety, environmental, and operational requirements.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Operate, calibrate, and perform pre-use inspections of TUG machines.
  • Conduct required quality assurance checks to ensure equipment is operating within established standards.
  • Perform machine startup activities and recertification of check tires to verify compliance with quality requirements.
  • Complete chuck changeovers based on production schedules and operational needs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate non-conformities or production concerns to supervisors.
  • Utilize data interfaces to collect, record, and report production and quality information.
  • Use manual and powered hand tools, gauges, and other measuring devices as required.
  • Follow established operating procedures to achieve production, quality, and efficiency targets.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping and production records.
  • Communicate effectively with production operators, inbound and outbound operators, supervisors, and other team members.
  • Maintain work areas in accordance with 5S principles, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and safety.
  • Follow all plant, departmental, environmental, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Final Finish Supervisor, Lead Supervisor, or Department Manager.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of Work Keys Assessment (SILVER)
  • Ability to lead and promote teamwork in a production environment
  • Ability to read and understand specifications and follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts – days, nights, and weekends.

THE ENVIRONMENT

Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures/ guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hearing protection and steel toe shoes.

The job is within a non-climate controlled environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise.

The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and operating sit -down tugger, with comprehensive training provided.
