Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be partnering with an established food manufacturer in Hull to recruit a Multi-Skilled Engineer (Nights). Working as part of a dedicated engineering team, you'll help maximise equipment reliability, minimise downtime and support continuous improvement across the site.

Your tasks

*The Opportunity* As a Multi-Skilled Engineer (Nights), you'll play a key role in:

• Maintaining, fault-finding and repairing production machinery to ensure safe, efficient and reliable operations.
• Responding effectively to breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing improvements to minimise recurring issues.
• Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM), supporting equipment commissioning and contributing to engineering improvement projects.
• Working collaboratively with production colleagues to support daily start-ups, maintain high standards of food safety and ensure effective communication across departments.
• Supporting apprentices, sharing technical knowledge and promoting safe working practices, good housekeeping and continuous improvement.

-Your work will directly contribute to improved production efficiency, reduced downtime and the smooth running of a busy manufacturing operation.

Requirements

Are you an experienced engineer who enjoys solving problems, improving machinery and making a tangible difference? This could be the opportunity to put your technical expertise to work in a busy, modern food manufacturing environment.

About You: We're looking for someone who can bring:

• An HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
• Must have a multi-skilled engineering background, with confidence in mechanical and electrical fault-finding.

-Ideally have 17th Edition or 18th Edition

• Experience maintaining and repairing equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• A proactive, safety-conscious approach, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues.

-Any Experience within FMCG would be advantageous, but a pro-active attitude and sound multi-skilled experience is critical -You don't need to meet every desirable criterion to apply. If you have a strong engineering foundation, relevant manufacturing experience and an enthusiasm for improving equipment performance, we'd be pleased to hear from you.

• Shift pattern: 4 on, 4 off, permanent nights, 18:00 to 06:00.
