Experienced R&D Polymers Technician M/F (M/F)

Why do we need you?

YOUR MISSIONS

Reporting to a Research and Development team within the Central Laboratory of the Construction Chemistry BU, you will be responsible for synthesizing new polymers of interest, notably via radical polymerization or through polymer post-modification, and then deploying the tests and characterizations necessary for the advancement of research projects and studies. You will thus participate in the evolution and renewal of our range of admixtures for concrete and mortar applications.

You will work within a substantial Research and Development laboratory, in a human-sized team that presents numerous interfaces in R&D (physicochemical teams and concrete and cement material application teams, with the market managers of our Business Units (mainly concrete) as well as with the Production teams of the various industrial sites and their local R&D counterparts).

Your responsibilities will be as follows:

• Contribute to the definition of the synthesis pathways defined within the framework of research projects and ensure their realization
• Ensure the interpretation of results and scientific reporting in the form of oral presentations and technical reports.
• Guarantee project traceability by managing the associated R&D quality documentary base.
• Use and develop analytical methods in accordance with the chosen orientations.
• Support products developed in the laboratory through to extrapolation at the pilot and industrial scale.
• Collaborate with application laboratories for the performance evaluation at the mortar and concrete scale of the products you have developed.
• Participate in the maintenance and metrology of laboratory equipment
• Participate in the collective life of the laboratory (transversal tasks, tidiness, cleanliness, and safety)
• Respect the quality, safety, security, environment, and sustainable development requirements of CHRYS0.

"Is this position right for you?

With a technical background of Bac +2 to Bac +3 in synthetic chemistry, you have several successful experiences in polymer synthesis or organic chemistry. You master IT tools (Office Pack: Word, style management, formatting, Excel macros—notably Solver, Powerpoint), possess a good level of English (at least understanding technical and scientific articles), and have good writing skills. You know how to manage several subjects at once by demonstrating autonomy and being proactive regarding technical orientations. Your scientific curiosity, combined with a high level of rigor and reliability, will allow you to thrive in this position.
