Furnace Maintenance Expert (M/F)
Why do we need you? Within the Glass Industry business of Saint-Gobain, we are looking for a Furnace Maintenance Expert to join the Direction Technique Internationale (DTI). The team intervenes on nearly 30 production lines across the world and supports sites in major maintenance operations and the life extension of glass furnaces. You will play a key role in the preparation, management, and execution of strategic technical operations such as furnace heat-up, hot repair, or technical audits of the installations. Type of contract: CDI Geographic area / location: Aubervilliers (93) Travel: approximately 50% of the time in factories internationally. Some operations may require missions of several consecutive weeks on-site. Remuneration: Fixed salary according to experience between 50 and 60 K€ Your mission consists of supporting Glass Industry factories in the preparation, management, and improvement of glass furnace maintenance operations in order to guarantee their performance, reliability, and lifespan. You will act as a technical expert, field project manager, and referent for the Group's industrial sites. Key Responsibilities Management of furnace maintenance operations
Prepare and coordinate major furnace maintenance operations. Ensure the technical management of the heat-up phases of glass furnaces. Take the lead during hot repair operations and installation repairs. Support factories in preparing interventions several months or even several years in advance. Guarantee compliance with the Group's technical standards and best practices. Technical expertise and support to factories
Perform technical audits of furnaces and their equipment. Identify areas for improvement to optimize the performance and lifespan of the installations. Support sites in the implementation of defined action plans. Provide technical support during complex or critical situations. Participate in the continuous improvement of maintenance methods. International project management
Coordinate projects with local teams and various DTI experts. Ensure the technical and operational follow-up of assigned projects. Participate in the development of new production lines and the Group's investment projects. Contribute to the sharing of best practices between the different factories. Skills development
Train and support local teams. Disseminate technical standards and feedback from experience. Participate in increasing the skills of factories on subjects related to glass furnaces. Is this position right for you? Essential skills
Engineering degree or Technical Master's. Significant industrial experience in production, maintenance, industrial processes, or technical project management. Fluent English is imperative, both spoken and written. English is used daily with factories and international teams. Strong appetite for field industrial environments. Ability to manage complex technical projects. Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a multicultural context. Availability for frequent international travel. Appreciated secondary skills
Knowledge of industrial furnaces, refractories, or glass processes. Experience in heavy industry, materials, metallurgy, cement, lime, ceramics, or glass. Knowledge of managing technical shutdowns or large industrial projects. French and/or Spanish.
