Functional Architect / IT System Functional Architect (M/F)

Why do we need you? As part of an internal mobility initiative, Saint-Gobain is recruiting a Senior Enterprise Architect to join the Group Digital & IT (GDI) teams.

At the Group scale, you will play a key role in defining and evolving Saint-Gobain's digital and technological landscape. You will contribute to translating the Group's strategic ambitions into coherent, scalable, and secure architectures, serving the challenges of growth, performance, and transformation.

Working closely with business departments and technological teams, you will support strategic programs, inform investment decisions, and ensure alignment between business needs and architectural choices.

Strategy and Enterprise Architecture

• Translate strategic directions into business capabilities, target architectures, and roadmaps.
• Lead architecture work across several strategic domains.
• Identify opportunities for pooling, simplification, and standardization at the Group scale.
• Guarantee the balance between global standards and the specific needs of entities.

Transformation and Investments

• Support major programs from their scoping phase.
• Evaluate solutions, platforms, technologies, and strategic partnerships.
• Contribute to the rationalization of the application portfolio and the management of technical debt.
• Define transition architectures allowing for progressive and controlled transformation.

Governance and Standards

• Lead governance bodies and architecture reviews.
• Define and evolve architecture principles, standards, and frameworks.
• Integrate cybersecurity, resilience, compliance, and sustainability challenges into technological choices.
• Continuously improve governance practices and mechanisms.

Leadership and Architecture Community

• Support architects and technical experts in their development.
• Foster collaboration between business, architecture, and technology teams.
• Ensure monitoring of technological evolutions and their opportunities.
• Present and defend architectural directions to high-level stakeholders.

Technological Modernization

• Promote architectures centered around APIs, Cloud, data, and platforms.
• Collaborate with Integration, DevSecOps, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity teams.
• Encourage automation, observability, and security by design.

Is this position right for you? Required Experience

• At least 12 years of experience in technology professions.
• Minimum 5 years in enterprise architecture or domain architecture roles.
• Experience within international, federated, or multi-activity organizations.

Essential Skills

• Enterprise Architecture: ability to define target architectures and transformation trajectories in complex and international environments.
• Digital Transformation: proven experience in leading or supporting large-scale transformation programs.
• Transversal Vision of Technologies: understanding of application, data, integration, cybersecurity, cloud, and infrastructure domains.
• Influence and Executive Communication: ability to present trade-offs and recommendations to executives and senior stakeholders.
• Architecture Governance: experience in defining standards, principles, and decision-making mechanisms.
• Fluent Professional English: necessary to operate in an international environment.

Preferred Skills

• Application Portfolio Management (APM): understanding of application rationalization and lifecycle management challenges.
• Modern Architecture: knowledge of cloud-native, composable, event-driven, and API-oriented architectures.
