SPEOS Simulation Engineer – Automotive Lighting, Gothenburg
Do you want to work with optical simulation where the results directly impact how the headlights and taillights of the future look and function? Comatec Sweden is growing and is now looking for SPEOS Simulation Engineers who want to translate simulations into concrete design improvements.
What you will work with You will build and maintain SPEOS models, evaluate optical performance and appearance, and develop proposals for design improvements. The work includes material, tolerance, and sensitivity analyses, correlation against physical measurements and tests, as well as technical reporting. You own your technical deliverables and contribute to requirements, design reviews, verification, and reusable simulation methods.
We are looking for you who have
- Practical experience with Ansys SPEOS
- Experience with CAD geometry and model preparation
- Knowledge in geometric optics, photometry, light sources, optical materials, and surface properties
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in optics, physics, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or similar
- Professional English in speech and writing
Meritorious experience
- Development of exterior or interior automotive lighting
- Simulation of headlights, taillights, ambient light, or visual appearance
- Optical measurement equipment and correlation between simulation and test
- Lighting regulations such as UNECE and FMVSS
- Working with suppliers and international teams
Who are you? You are analytical and interpret simulation and test data independently. You are structured, curious, and solution-oriented, and you are used to taking responsibility for your deliverables and documenting them clearly.
