Security Supervisor

About the position:

As a Security Supervisor at Cologix, you will be responsible for the physical security of one of our hyperscale data centers. You will supervise a team of contract security officers and support the security manager in managing daily operations. In this role, you will ensure the enforcement of security policies, procedures, and standards to protect employees, customers, visitors, as well as Cologix's critical infrastructure. You will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment, coordinating security activities, and managing interventions, while providing high-quality customer service.

Your daily tasks: Supervise and coordinate on-site security officers, including task assignment and schedule management.

Ensure strict enforcement of access protocols and visitor controls, including registration and identification.

Monitor security systems (video surveillance, access control, fire panel, alarms).

Respond quickly and effectively to incidents and emergency situations.

Regularly patrol the interior and exterior perimeters of the building to identify and correct potential vulnerabilities.

When necessary, conduct security investigations, submit detailed reports, and assist in implementing corrective measures with the team.

Act as a first responder in case of medical emergencies.

Respond to security requests (internal, external) while respecting response times according to our established service agreements.

Raise awareness among staff regarding security best practices and emergency procedures.

Provide assistance (first level of escalation) to security officers when help is needed (on call).

Supervise officers and cross-check reports. Escalate any abnormal situation to the security manager.

Train new officers on processes, systems, and software.

Perform additional tasks related to the position, as needed.

What makes you a good candidate: (Qualifications) College diploma or any other equivalent experience and studies will be considered

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in physical security, with team supervision experience being a significant asset

Hold a valid permit from the Bureau de la sécurité privée (BSP)

Previous experience in security in a critical environment such as a data center, pharmaceutical, or any other sensitive and high-security industrial facility

Leadership and team management skills

Exceptional customer service skills

Must be punctual, reliable, flexible, and willing to work overtime as needed to meet department demands

Basic computer skills required to manage various systems.

Knowledge of English is required for this position, notably because you will be called upon to communicate frequently with other employees as well as with Cologix customers and/or vendors located outside of Quebec.
