About the position: Cologix is looking for an HVAC Specialist to act as a technical expert and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for HVAC systems within its hyperscale data center critical infrastructures. This position combines deep field expertise with a strategic contribution to the performance, reliability of HVAC systems, and the overall energy efficiency of the sites. The person will support operations in a 24/7 high-availability environment. This is a new position expected to evolve progressively based on operational needs, infrastructure maturity, and organizational growth.

Your daily tasks: Act as a technical reference within the team

Intervene in the field when advanced diagnostics, incidents, and critical situations are required

Ensure the performance and reliability of HVAC systems including CRAC, DX units, MUA, ventilation, humidification, etc.

Validate, optimize, and recommend adjustments to HVAC control sequences

Analyze the energy performance of the infrastructures

Identify, recommend, and prioritize initiatives aimed at improving PUE

Ensure that HVAC systems meet the service levels required according to the SLAs with our customers

Support operational activities including planned maintenance, resilience testing, cutovers, and commissioning

Participate in Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and the implementation of corrective actions following incidents

Contribute to the implementation of HVAC standards and industry best practices (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, etc.)

Participate in expansion, modernization, and infrastructure evolution projects

Maintain clear, structured, and up-to-date technical documentation

Be available in case of emergency

What makes you a good candidate: (Qualifications) Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or another related field. An equivalent combination of training and significant experience in critical HVAC systems will also be considered.

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the support and operation of critical HVAC infrastructures, ideally in data centers, healthcare, pharmaceutical, telecommunications facilities, or other critical environments

Demonstrated ability to combine strategic analysis and field intervention.

Ability to effectively manage and prioritize tasks in a dynamic, high-availability environment.

Availability and willingness to travel between our 3 data centers, according to operational needs.

Autonomy, rigor, professionalism, and strong technical credibility.

Knowledge of English is required for this position, notably because you will be called upon to communicate frequently with other employees as well as with Cologix customers and/or suppliers located outside of Quebec.
