About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Mail Server Administrator / IT Systems Engineer with experience in email infrastructure, server management, and networking.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing internal mail servers, configuring secure email systems, and ensuring reliable email delivery through VPS and cloud-based routing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mail Server Management
- Manage and maintain internal mail servers
- Create and manage user mailboxes
- Configure secure access protocols (IMAP, POP3, SMTP)
- Implement spam filtering, antivirus, and authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Monitor mailbox usage and server logs for troubleshooting
- VPS & Mail Routing
- Configure VPS/cloud servers for email routing
- Set up SMTP relays, DNS records, and firewall configurations
- Ensure reliable email delivery and prevent blacklisting
- Optimise mail flow and routing performance
- Security & Compliance
- Implement encryption (TLS for SMTP, IMAP, POP3)
- Maintain email backup and recovery strategies
- Ensure system security and compliance best practices
- Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor server performance, email queues, and traffic
- Identify and resolve system issues proactively
- Generate reports on system usage, errors, and security events
Requirements
- Experience in Linux server administration (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS)
- Hands-on experience with mail servers (Postfix, Exim, Microsoft Exchange, or Zimbra)
- Strong understanding of DNS and networking (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
- Experience with VPS or cloud services (DigitalOcean, AWS, or similar)
- Familiarity with firewall configuration and server security
- Basic scripting knowledge (Bash, Python, or PowerShell) is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Able to work onsite in Jakarta
