Context
Three ecosystems already exist and must converge. Pegasus, the Group's product data platform (GCP, BigQuery, dbt, knowledge graph), exposes 100% of product attributes via API and has a product agent in prototype (MCP server, intent routing, functional demonstration on all GTINs). Orion, the internal platform for deploying experiences by brand and country, is developing its MCP capability to serve agents and MCP Apps to ChatGPT and retailers. The consumer service runs on Salesforce Agentforce (WISMO agent in production since April 2026) and will be the first consumer of the product agent. Modiface, the Group's computer vision subsidiary, provides virtual try-on and diagnostics, already exposed in ChatGPT and in the Watsons retailer app (Malaysia).
The current phase (October to December 2026) must deliver three things: the production deployment of the product agent under Group compliance (Trustworthy AI, pentest and red-team, Scientific Committee) and its consumption by the Care agent; the extraction of the first reusable agents and their migration to Orion; the framing of the target architecture to be presented to the Design Authority in January 2027, which conditions the funding for the 2027 scale-up.
The Role
You are the sole tech lead of the Beauty Conversations squad - the most technically capable person on the team. The squad includes a program lead (steering, stakeholders, budget) and nine engineers in the process of scaling up, working daily with the O+O product and engineering teams, Modiface, Care, the Orion core team, the CTO's office, and Enterprise Architecture. You are the direct link between the CTO and the Head of Engineering and the team implementing the work: you lead technical rituals, validate pull requests, champion designs, and enforce standards. You carry the technical delivery of the phase and co-write the target architecture. The architecture of existing platforms (Pegasus, Orion) remains under the authority of their Group leads; you build with them, not over them.
You are a doer. You code, you review, you make decisions. You are capable, within the same day, of refusing a PR, maintaining an interface position with a vendor, and preparing a Design Authority dossier.
The success criterion for this phase is explicit: obtain the green light from sponsors in January 2027 to start the scale-up, based on three use cases in production and an accepted architecture dossier.
Responsibilities
Deliver the Pegasus product agent into production: MCP server, intent routing and tool selection, evaluation harness (reference question set per intent, F1 per tool, non-regression gate in CI), observability per conversation turn, consumption contract validated by the Care team in pre-production, runbook, and SLO.
Prepare and defend Group compliance dossiers with AI engineers: Trustworthy AI sheet, pentest and red-team preparation pack (threat model, prompt injection, exfiltration via tools), evidence dossier for the Scientific Committee (sources per claim, health questions and contraindications). The Group holds the gates; you prepare them, defend them, and remediate.
