This international industrial group, in a context of sustained growth and innovation, is strengthening its R&D function and is recruiting a Senior Manager R&D - Head of an Advanced Mechatronics Design Team. Within an R&D department of 50-55 people structured into 4 teams, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of 15 engineers and PhDs,

Reporting to the R&D Director, you will play a key role in the definition and implementation of very high-precision mechatronic solutions intended for critical applications (semiconductors, photonics, high-tech industries, research).

Management & organization

Supervise, structure, and grow a team of experts (mechanics, systems, simulation, design)

*

Develop skills, recruit, and establish a culture of excellence and collaboration

*

Organize priorities and effectively manage the team's workload

Technical & project management

*

Define the technical strategy of the department in connection with the global R&D vision

*

Supervise complex mechatronics design projects (modeling, simulation, high-precision system design)

*

Guarantee the quality of deliverables and the meeting of project milestones

*

Implement and evolve engineering methods, tools, and standards

Innovation & excellence

*

Promote best engineering practices (simulation, V-cycle, risk analysis, design to cost/manufacturing)

*

Stimulate innovation in technologies, multi-degree-of-freedom systems, and architectures

*

Ensure the robustness, reliability, and performance of the developed solutions

Interface & collaboration

*

Collaborate closely with internal teams (R&D, industrialization, production, marketing, quality)

*

Contribute to cross-functional and international projects

*

Provide support on high-stakes customer topics

Education

*

Engineer and/or PhD in mechanics, mechatronics, systems, or equivalent

Experience

*

Minimum 15 years of experience in the design of complex mechatronic systems, ideally high-precision

*

Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary R&D teams

Technical skills

*

Strong skills in system architecture, simulation, control, and structural dynamics

*

Mastery of design and simulation tools (CAD, Matlab/Simulink, Ansys or equivalent)

*

Experience in the semiconductor, photonics, or precision instrumentation sectors is a strong asset

Soft skills

*

Natural leadership, ability to unite and structure within a demanding environment

*

Fluent English is essential (international context)

*

Manager-coach posture, oriented towards people development as much as technical performance
