Data Architect - Freelance (M/F)

CONTEXT

As part of a transformation program centered around Agentic AI, our client wishes to develop a Semantic Layer to bridge the gap between data sources and the users or systems that exploit them.

This semantic layer aims to abstract the technical structures of the data - tables, columns, joins - in order to translate them into a vocabulary understandable by business units and systems: concepts, definitions, relations, business rules, and ontologies.

The objective is notably to enable LLMs and AI agents to interpret and exploit data in a reliable, consistent, and governed manner, in order to facilitate the large-scale deployment of Agentic AI use cases.

MISSIONS

• Design of the Semantic Layer
• Explore different entities and data sources to define an initial approach for implementing the semantic layer.
• Identify and model the concepts, relations, and business rules necessary for Agentic AI use cases.
• Design reusable semantic assets.
• Participate in the definition of business vocabularies and ontologies.
• Perform mapping between Data Products and semantic models.
• Architecture and Data Management
• Design data architectures and produce reference architecture documents.
• Perform the low-level design of Data Products, ontologies, and semantic components.
• Integrate Data Mesh, Data Product, and Data Governance principles.
• Ensure alignment with architecture standards and principles defined at the Group level.
• Take into account the challenges related to complex, federated, and distributed data environments.
• Experimentation and Agentic AI
• Concretely experiment with Semantic Layer approaches on Agentic AI use cases.
• Demonstrate the value and feasibility of the proposed solutions.
• Identify limits, best practices, and lessons learned from experiments.
• Contribute to the enrichment and evolution of architecture and governance standards.

1. 8 years minimum of experience in Data Architecture
2. Significant experience with complex data architectures
3. Mastery of data modeling
4. Knowledge of ontologies and Knowledge/Expertise Graphs
5. Experience with Data Product and Data Mesh
6. Skills in Data Management and Data Governance
7. Ability to produce Reference Architecture Documents
8. Skills in Low-Level Design
9. Good knowledge of the market's Data solution ecosystem
10. Experience with environments such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Collibra, etc.
11. Experience in large, complex, and federated international organizations
12. Good understanding of AI / LLM / Agentic AI architectures
13. Ability to work in an English-speaking environment
14. Fluent English mandatory
