IT Project Manager / Application Manager - Liferay B2B Portal - Freelance (M/F)

the Web & Portal Studio team is looking for an IT Project Manager to take charge of the maintenance and evolution of a digital portal for professional clients, deployed in several European subsidiaries, notably in France, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Belgium.

The mission takes place as part of a temporary replacement within the team and combines two dimensions: IT project management and operational responsibility of the platform in Build & Run.

The platform is based on Liferay. Concrete experience in this environment will constitute a strong differentiating factor.

MISSIONS

PROJECT MANAGEMENT - APPROX. 50 %

The consultant is responsible for managing the project and its various stakeholders.

In this capacity, they must notably:

• Manage the project according to its costs, risks, deadlines, and dependencies;
• Monitor the progress of various workstreams and ensure their proper execution;
• Coordinate technical teams, business teams, and the various partners involved;
• Directly manage a PPO (Proxy Product Owner), several developers, a UX Designer, as well as a TMA;
• Identify and anticipate risks and bottlenecks, then implement the associated action plans;
• Produce project reporting and ensure appropriate communication to top management;
• Champion and represent the project to the various stakeholders;
• Be able to maintain a high-level perspective on the project while understanding technical issues sufficiently to challenge the teams.

This is a true IT Project Manager role: the mission does not correspond to a PMO role focused solely on coordination and reporting.

MAINTENANCE, BUILD & RUN OF THE PLATFORM - APPROX. 50 %

The consultant participates in the operational management of the platform and its maintenance in operational conditions.

Their responsibilities include notably:

• Manage the corrective and evolutionary maintenance activities of the portal;
• Supervise Build and Run activities;
• Coordinate the interventions of the TMA and development teams;
• Monitor and manage incident resolution;
• Understand and qualify technical issues to facilitate their resolution;
• Organize communication to stakeholders in the event of an incident;
• Participate in crisis management when the criticality of the situation requires it;
• Guarantee the continuity and quality of service of the platform.

We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager, capable of operating at the interface between business teams, technical teams, service providers, and management.

The profile must have:

• Significant experience in managing IT / digital projects;
• Experience in managing applications or platforms in a Build & Run environment;
• A good understanding of technical issues related to web applications and portals;
• Experience in incident management, ideally on applications exposed to clients;
• The ability to manage a TMA and development teams;
• Mastery of management by costs, risks, deadlines, and dependencies;
• The ability to communicate with high-level interlocutors and ensure reporting to management;
• The ability to work in an international and multicultural environment;
• Fluent English, indispensable for interacting with the various European subsidiaries.

STRONGLY DIFFERENTIATING COMPETENCE

Experience with Liferay, ideally in the context of managing or evolving a client portal, will constitute a major asset.

The candidate is not intended to develop on Liferay themselves, but must be sufficiently comfortable with the environment.
