Financial Reporting Manager

Cole Connections is recruiting a Financial Reporting Manager for an established British manufacturing business, now part of a larger, internationally recognised Group.

Your tasks

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys combining financial reporting with planning, analysis and business partnering.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll join at an exciting time as the business continues to strengthen its financial processes and integrate with wider Group reporting requirements.

The Opportunity This is a hands-on, varied position where you'll take ownership of financial reporting while contributing to budgeting, forecasting and commercial decision-making.

Your responsibilities will include

• Preparing monthly management accounts, financial reports and meaningful commentary.
• Supporting statutory accounts preparation and ensuring compliance with UK GAAP.
• Contributing to annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and longer-term financial planning.
• Developing financial models to support pricing, margins and scenario analysis.
• Working closely with operational teams, including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales and Engineering.
• Analysing financial performance, identifying trends and challenging the numbers to drive improvements.
• Supporting cash flow forecasting, capital investment appraisals and Group reporting requirements.
• Helping improve financial processes, controls and management information.

Requirements

Are you a qualified accountant who enjoys getting behind the numbers, challenging the status quo and making a genuine difference to business performance?

The success candidate will be fully qualified with 1-2 years post qual experience working within manufacturing or engineering industry.

We're looking for someone who brings strong technical accounting skills alongside commercial curiosity and a proactive approach.

You'll ideally offer

• Full ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience, including month-end processes.
• Practical experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• A sound understanding of UK GAAP and financial controls.
• Knowledge of standard costing and manufacturing finance principles.
• Strong analytical skills and the confidence to question, investigate and explain financial information.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across a business.

You don't necessarily need to be working at Manager level already. If you're a capable Management Accountant or Senior Management Accountant looking for broader responsibility and career progression, we'd be keen to hear from you.
