Head of Communications

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement the organization's communications and public relations strategy. Lead brand positioning and ensure consistency across all communication channels. Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international media organizations. Oversee content creation for digital platforms, publications, reports, marketing materials, and social media. Translate complex social impact initiatives into compelling human-centered stories. Plan and execute publicity campaigns, media engagements, and stakeholder communication initiatives. Monitor communication performance and prepare periodic reports for management. Manage communications budgets and ensure efficient use of resources. Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to the Communications team. Collaborate with program teams to communicate organizational impact effectively.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Mass Communication, or a related discipline. Minimum of 10 years' professional experience in Communications, Public Relations, Media, Branding, or Corporate Communications. Proven experience leading communications strategies for NGOs, development organizations, faith-based organizations, corporate organizations, or international agencies. Strong expertise in media relations, public affairs, corporate branding, and reputation management. Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and presentation skills. Strong understanding of digital communications, social media strategy, and brand management. Experience managing publicity campaigns and stakeholder engagement initiatives. Excellent leadership, project management, and team development skills. Knowledge of AI-enabled communication tools is an added advantage.
