Accountant
Responsibilities: Daily Income Audit: Reconcile daily property management system (PMS) reports with cash, Point of Sale (POS) terminals, and bank transfers to ensure all room and service revenues are accurately captured. Expense & Inventory Tracking: Monitor food, beverage, and hotel asset inventory levels. Perform cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) analysis to minimize wastage and leakage. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage vendor invoices, schedule timely payments for hotel supplies/utilities, and follow up on corporate or outstanding guest balances. Payroll Management: Prepare and process the monthly payroll for hotel staff, including commissions, deductions, and bonuses. Financial Reporting: Prepare weekly cash flow summaries and monthly profit-and-loss (P&L) statements for management review. Tax & Compliance: Compute and remit monthly statutory deductions, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and hotel consumption taxes, to relevant Lagos State authorities.
Requirements: 2–4 years of accounting experience. Prior experience working within a hotel, lounge, restaurant, or suite environment is highly required. Proficiency in hospitality accounting software or general tools like QuickBooks, Sage, or advanced Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical capabilities, undisputed integrity, and a strict approach to internal fraud prevention and cost control. Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate seamlessly with front desk managers, procurement officers, and management. HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional certifications (ICAN/ACCA parts) are an added advantage.
