You are the guarantor of the machines that decide
Permanent Contract · Executive (day rate) · Grenoble area · Growing team
Forget the image of the test engineer who simply runs through procedures. Here, you do not follow the test framework: you own it. All the testing resources on site belong to you — you design new ones, you improve those already running, and it is your decision that determines whether a product has the right to be shipped to the customer.
The products in question? Advanced imaging systems capable of seeing what the human eye cannot — at night, through fog or smoke. They equip critical applications: security, aeronautics, space, industry, and tomorrow, your car.
Why this position stands out
- A complete scope: from specification to production, and throughout the entire lifespan of the test bench. No silos, no sub-parts of sub-systems.
- A reference position: R&D, Validation, Production, and Support rely on you. The position includes a managerial relay role within the department — an open door toward management for those who wish.
- Rare technology: few engineers in France work on these cutting-edge sensors. A differentiating skill for the rest of your career.
- Perfect timing: our client has just invested heavily in a new industrial tool and aims to double its production by 2030. The team is strengthening: evolution prospects are real, not cosmetic.
Your daily life
- Design, develop, and qualify new benches — electronics, software (Python, C/C++), instrumentation, automation — in-house or with subcontractors that you manage.
- Maintain and progress the existing fleet: adapt solutions to new products, guarantee test compliance, and provide second-level technical support.
- Play detective: analyze failures, trace back to the root cause, and drive action plans.
- Transfer knowledge: train the Support teams, make them autonomous, and maintain reference documentation.
- Define test strategies and specifications upstream with R&D: functional, performance, robustness, industrial capacity.
What we are looking for
- Engineering degree (electronics, instrumentation, embedded systems) or equivalent through experience, with a minimum of 8 years in an industrial environment (test, validation, industrialization).
- Analog and digital electronics, communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, CameraLink, MIPI CSI…) and software development: Python as a priority, supplemented by C/C++, Matlab, or VBA.
- Instrumentation (oscilloscopes, generators). ATE platforms and infrared cameras are assets, not prerequisites: this can be learned with us.
- Project management and partner management, quality culture (traceability, compliance, test automation).
- A passion for knowledge transfer — training and documenting is an integral part of the position.
- Professional English.
What you gain
- A permanent executive contract in a new and modern working environment, within a cross-functional organization.
- A recognized technical reference role, with managerial relay and evolution prospects toward expertise or management.
- Skill development in some of the most advanced imaging technologies in Europe, alongside recognized experts.
- The Grenoble area: the French deep tech ecosystem, with the mountains as a bonus.
