Our client is a French company founded in 2022, specializing in the development, industrialization, and production of high-power hydrogen fuel cell systems.
To support its strong growth, the company is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer (M/F) for the Power Conversion Unit (PCU) intended for a new generation of fuel cell systems integrating energy storage, power electronics, cooling systems, mechanical structures, electrical interfaces, instrumentation, and control equipment.
Your missions
- Design and develop the mechanical architecture of the PCU (mechanical structures, sheet metal assemblies, enclosures and cabinets, cooling systems, mounting supports, cable routing solutions, and mechanical interfaces...) throughout the product development cycle from the design phase to prototyping and industrialization.
- Create 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, Bills of Materials (BOM), as well as technical documentation.
- Guarantee optimal mechanical integration with electrical, thermal, and control subsystems.
- Perform mechanical calculations, tolerance stack-up analyses, and contribute to structural and thermal simulations (FEA).
- Write technical specifications, participate in design reviews, and contribute to risk analyses (DFMEA).
- Collaborate with suppliers for component development, technical validation, and industrialization.
- Participate in prototype assembly, testing, root cause analysis, and the implementation of design improvements.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize product quality, manufacturing costs, and maintainability.
Your profile
- Engineering degree or Master's degree (Bac+5) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Product Design, or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in full mechanical design (up to industrialization) of industrial or electromechanical systems and integration of complex products within multidisciplinary teams.
- Good knowledge of sheet metal, weldments, machined parts, functional dimensioning (GD&T), tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (ideally CATIA) and finite element analysis (FEA) software.
- Professional English is essential.
The pluses of the position
- Design innovative products that concretely contribute to the energy transition.
- Participate in ambitious multidisciplinary technical projects.
- Follow your designs from the initial idea through to industrialization.
