Senior Electronics R&D Engineer

We are looking for an experienced R&D Senior Engineer for electronics product development roles in Vaasa!

Do you have experience in embedded systems and electronics design? Do you want to develop demanding industrial electronics solutions as part of an international and competent product development team?

In this role, you will get to work with modern power distribution automation and protection solutions and influence product development from requirements specification to testing of the finished product.

Job Description

As an R&D Senior Engineer, you will work as part of a competent hardware product development team that develops advanced industrial electronics for protection and automation systems.

In this role, you will actively participate in the design of electronic solutions, the development of system architecture, and technical decision-making within your own area of responsibility. You will work in close cooperation with software, quality, and testing experts in both the development of new products and the maintenance and further development of existing solutions.

The position offers the opportunity to see the entire product development process from requirements and conception to the testing of the final product.

Your tasks may include the following:

• Industrial electronics research, design, and maintenance
• Embedded systems electronics design
• Participation in electronics and hardware architecture design
• Evaluation of technical solutions and decision-making within your own area of responsibility
• Electronics design and simulation
• Collaboration with software, testing, and quality experts
• Design reviews and technical problem-solving
• Supporting product testing and troubleshooting
• Continuous improvement of development methods and design quality
• Maintenance and further development of existing products

What we expect from you

• A relevant university degree (B.Sc. / M.Sc.) in, for example, electronics, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or another applicable field
• At least approximately two years of experience in electronics or hardware design
• Experience in embedded systems electronics, such as processor, data transmission, or analog electronics
• Understanding of EMC and Signal Integrity
• Experience with electronics design and simulation tools
• Fluent oral and written English skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of an agile product development team
• Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.
