Part Time Company Accountant

Maidstone / Hybrid | Paying £45 per hour

We are delighted to be working exclusively with a privately owned, highly regarded business based in Maidstone, to recruit an experienced Company Accountant.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and successful organisation where you will play a key role within a small Accounts team. The role offers genuine variety and responsibility, making it ideally suited to an experienced accountant or senior accounts professional who enjoys being hands-on and having broad involvement across the finance function. This role is part time offering hybrid working flexibility.

This role is 25 hours a week, paying £45 per hour.

The Role

Reporting across the business, you will take responsibility for a varied range of accounting and financial duties, including:

• Producing monthly Management Accounts
• Managing the Sales, Purchase and Nominal Ledgers across four companies/divisions
• Managing tenant Service Fund Accounts and budgets
• Credit Control
• Monitoring online bank accounts and treasury deposits
• Preparing information for auditors, including tax analysis
• Managing monthly payroll and submitting Real Time Information to HMRC
• Preparing and submitting VAT Returns via Making Tax Digital
• Financial budgeting and forecasting
• Supporting with a variety of ad hoc financial and accounting tasks

You will also manage one member of staff, providing an opportunity to demonstrate your leadership skills within a small and collaborative Accounts function.

About You

We are looking for someone with strong practical accounting experience who is comfortable taking ownership of a broad range of responsibilities.

You will ideally have:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Strong bookkeeping and control account reconciliation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and financial accuracy
• Good communication skills
• A proactive, organised and hands-on approach
