Cluuf House Construction is seeking a Site Engineer to oversee and coordinate construction activities across our residential and commercial projects in Abuja.

We are looking for a technically strong, organised and hands-on professional who can take ownership of site execution and ensure that work is completed safely, accurately and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and project schedules.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, contractors, artisans, suppliers and other members of the project team to ensure efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Site Execution & Supervision

Supervise day-to-day construction activities on assigned sites. Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements. Set out works and verify dimensions, levels, alignment and positioning where required. Monitor workmanship and ensure construction activities meet required quality standards. Identify defects, discrepancies or deviations and ensure they are corrected promptly. Coordinate artisans, subcontractors and site workers to ensure efficient workflow. Monitor progress against project schedules and report delays or potential delays. Ensure materials are used correctly and efficiently.

Technical Coordination

Read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP and other construction drawings. Identify inconsistencies between drawings and actual site conditions and escalate them appropriately. Coordinate with consultants, contractors and subcontractors where required. Assist with measurements, quantities and technical assessments. Maintain accurate site records, measurements and documentation. Assist with reviewing material specifications and technical requirements.

Quality Control

Conduct regular inspections of ongoing works. Check workmanship and materials before work progresses to subsequent stages. Ensure appropriate construction methods and standards are followed. Maintain site inspection records and document defects and corrective actions. Support snagging and final inspection processes.

Site Management & Reporting

Prepare regular site progress reports, including photographs and updates. Track labour, materials, equipment and work completed. Report site issues, delays, variations and resource requirements promptly. Attend site meetings and provide accurate technical updates. Maintain organised project documentation.

Health, Safety & Site Discipline

Promote and enforce safe working practices on site. Ensure workers use appropriate personal protective equipment. Identify and report potential hazards. Maintain a clean, organised and professional construction site.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Construction Engineering or a related discipline. Minimum of 3 years of relevant construction/site experience . Strong understanding of construction processes and site operations. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods and workmanship. Good understanding of measurements, quantities and basic construction costing. Strong organisational and documentation skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to coordinate artisans, subcontractors and suppliers effectively. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with AutoCAD or other relevant construction software is an advantage. Professional registration or relevant certifications are an advantage.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, technically sound and accountable .

You should be comfortable being on site, asking questions, checking measurements, challenging poor workmanship and ensuring that work is done correctly rather than simply assuming that contractors have done what they were instructed to do.

You should also be able to communicate clearly with both technical professionals and artisans and provide the Project Manager with accurate information about what is actually happening on site.
