Private Chef

We are seeking an experienced and highly professional Private Chef to join a private household in Abuja.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing fresh, well-presented and nutritious meals tailored to the household’s preferences and dietary requirements. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, maintains excellent hygiene standards and can work independently with discretion.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and prepare daily meals for the household. Prepare a variety of Nigerian and international cuisines. Develop weekly menus based on preferences, dietary requirements and available ingredients. Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene. Manage kitchen organisation, cleanliness and food storage. Monitor household food supplies and prepare shopping/procurement lists. Minimise food waste and manage ingredients responsibly. Maintain proper food safety and sanitation standards. Prepare meals for occasional private events or guests when required. Keep an organised record of frequently used ingredients and household preferences. Work discreetly and respectfully within a private household.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Chef, Private Chef, Personal Chef or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of food preparation, hygiene and kitchen safety. Ability to prepare a range of Nigerian and international dishes. Excellent organisational and time-management skills. High attention to detail. Reliable, discreet and professional. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good communication skills. References from previous employers are required.

Preferred

Culinary training or professional chef certification. Experience working in a private household, executive residence, luxury hospitality environment or similar setting. Ability to accommodate specific dietary requirements. Strong knowledge of healthy and balanced meal preparation.
